Regional Operations Manager, Surety

Job Purpose/Role

As a regional ops manager, Surety, you are accountable for operations in surety product segment in the region. You will implements operational excellence in Surety to continuously optimize the surety value chain in terms of quality, customer satisfaction, unit cost and productivity in the region. You also need to ensure business continuity in the regional and implement all necessary safeguarding measuredly in Surety according to the surety operations strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Strategy and Steering

• Defines and maintains Regional Surety Operations strategy in alignment with RCOO and Global Head of Ops for Surety:
  • Responsible to define, implement and steer the Surety Operations strategy at regional and local level
  • Accountable to implement locally the Surety's Digital Operating Model, organizational structure, and standards for Operations
  • Design and adapt the Surety's Digital model that will be applicable for APAC fronting markets

• Steers and drive projects relating to geographical expansion into other markets
  • Set up the processes in the new market and ensure that
  • Work closely with various ROC to ensure the readiness of AZT systems

• Support ad-hoc projects as may be requested

 Operational Excellence

• Steers and monitors Surety's operational quality, customer satisfaction and productivity at regional level:
  • Accountable for the proper execution of Surety operations at regional and local level based on AZ Trade's DOM
  • Accountable to implement and drive Operational Excellence in Surety at regional and local level to continuously improve Customer Satisfaction, Quality and Productivity of Surety Operations leveraging AZ Trade's regional and global platforms, systems and Global Competence Centers
  • Accountable for Business Continuity in Surety at regional and local level

 Contract Management

• Steers Surety Contract Management Strategy to provide excellent services to internal and external stakeholders, through efficient, effective and lean processes in alignment with Group Ops for Surety:

• Produces and operates Surety products by issuing the Facilities documentation and managing and securing the invoicing process and related financial flows towards customers, brokers and AZ Trade finance
• Implements at regional level Contract Management global guidelines and standards
• Oversees and ensures Contract Management performance and continuous improvement at regional level through a defined productivity model and the analysis of metrics and KPIs, defining remediation actions as required
• Secure earned revenues through efficient support of accounts receivables processes and services

Underwriting support

• Oversees the Regional governance of Underwriting Support activities
  • Provides timely support to Commercial and Risk activities in the management of Facility and Bonds life cycle in the Region
  • Secures the proper execution of Bonds, including fronting Desk (in line with Commercial and Risk Underwriting Rules)
  • Ensures consistent and proper communication flow between the stakeholders involved in the key processes

Key Requirements

• At least 8 years of working experience
• Has a good understanding of surety products, business processes, and the relevant system
• Ability to steer team members  in multiple locations, and with limited direct authority
• Ability to understand dependencies / business impacts and challenge the different parties (and negotiate with) to determine the right priorities
• Has good analytical skills and a structured mindset
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to foster relationships
• Capacity to work independently and take ownership (Capacity to take decision)
• Willing and flexible to take calls and meetings at CET (central European Time)
• Fluent in verbal and written English
