Portfolio Manager (VP) Direct Lending (f/m/d)

As a Portfolio Manager (f/m/d), you will join the AllianzGI Direct Lending platform by strengthening our investment capabilities for the Benelux market.

Based in Munich, Paris, London, Singapore and Rotterdam, the Direct Lending platform is composed of 33 investment professionals. With approx. €10bn AUM, we invest in direct lending transactions in the European lower mid-market and mid-market, and we manage specialized lending strategies across Emerging Markets and Asia.

The role involves supporting the origination, structuring and execution of direct lending transactions in the Benelux DACH region, with a focus on unitranche solutions for our lower mid-market impact strategy and our senior mid-market strategy.

The position will be based in Rotterdam.

What you will do

• Conduct in-depth due diligence and lead execution of direct lending opportunities, including deliverables for investment committees, LBO modelling, due diligence reviews, and legal work streams
• Source and screen deal opportunities and develop indicative credit views in line with our lending guidelines and yield requirements
• Support origination and contribute to relationships with sponsors, advisors and management teams
• Support the monitoring of portfolio companies and periodic credit reviews in collaboration with our asset management team, and support management of waivers and consent requests as well as stressed company situations
• Contribute to quarterly investor reports, fundraising pitches, and support cross team projects within our broader private credit platform (incl. co investments, fund of funds and secondaries)

What you bring

• Meaningful experience (6–10 years) in direct lending, private debt, leveraged finance or private equity–related fields
• Solid foundation in deal execution, credit analysis and stakeholder management, paired with strong analytical skills and the ability to form well-reasoned credit judgements
• Understanding of the characteristics and competitive landscape of the direct lending market in the Benelux region, ideally supported by your own business relationships
• Experience in coordinating due diligence reviews, modelling and negotiating legal documentation
• High degree of ownership, ability and willingness to go the additional mile to execute a transaction from start to finish and thereafter
• A collaborative mindset within the direct lending team and ability to facilitate relationships with other teams: sustainability/ impact, investment committee members, product specialists and support functions (risk management, legal, operations, compliance, products, etc.) 
• Interest in sustainability, transition financing and impact-oriented credit strategies
• Eagerness to join a developing platform with an entrepreneurial spirit – a solutions-oriented person
• Fluency in English and Dutch both written and spoken; Fluency in a third European language is a plus
• Experience with Microsoft CoPilot is considered a plus
