The Product Specialist function is an important link between the private markets investment teams, Distribution, as well as other AllianzGI functions, and clients. The incumbent will be part of the Private Markets platform which manages approximately EUR 100 billion in assets for both third party investors globally and its parent company, Allianz, comprising around 170 investment professionals. The platform offers professional investors a broad range of strategies including infrastructure debt and equity, private equity, private placement debt (investment grade and non-investment grade), mid-market private credit, global multi-manager private debt, as well as Trade Finance and Blended Finance. The Private Markets Investment teams are global with locations in London, Paris, New York, Munich and Singapore.
What you do
- Works within the Private Markets product specialists’ team and collaborates closely with investment teams to serve as an advocate for the Infrastructure and Private Credit strategies
- Provides expert knowledge of strategies, products, investment process, and philosophy and communicates/ presents this to sales teams, distribution partners and clients, specifically in the pan-Asian region
- Acts as the external and internal voice of the investment team and is the interface between investment professionals and the sales and marketing professionals (e.g. investment related content for marketing purposes)
- Actively supports fundraising efforts and participates at marketing events, as well as client and consultant meetings
- Writes and articulates portfolio relevant commentaries to support the product presentations and positioning of our capabilities. In addition, delivers the required portfolio and investment strategy-related content to the RFP team and client service entities
- Stays abreast with the strategy's performance in context to relevant competitor products and explains performance relative to the market environment and peers
- Participates in product development initiatives as well as distribution initiatives for the respective strategies
- This role includes business travels
What you bring
- Academic degree in Economics, Finance or similar environment. CFA, CIIA or similar qualification is helpful
- 10+ years of relevant professional experience in a Product Specialist, institutional sales (with focus on Private Markets) or investment role
- Specific experience in Private Market strategies is a must, ideally Infrastructure and Private Credit
- Proven track record of developing new Private Markets business with clients across the pan-Asian region
- Ambitious and organized personality with the ability to work independently as well as in a team
- environment. Strong can-do attitude with internal and external clients and responsive to their needs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to tailor messages for a diverse range of audiences and to clearly articulate investment content
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally, cross-regionally and cross-culturally in a large organization
- Mentor and influencer with intellectual and cultural curiosity, who thrives in a collegiate environment
- Proficiency in English is a must, additional language skills (e.g. Japanese, Korean) are a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft CoPilot
