Description:

Allianz Insurance Singapore is seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Development Manager to join our FA team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will drive growth and strengthen relationships within the financial adviser (FA) market in Singapore. This role focuses on general insurance products and requires a strategic thinker with deep market knowledge, strong relationship management skills, and a proven track record in business development.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partnership Development: Identify, acquire, and onboard new financial advisory (FA) firms as distribution partners for general insurance products in Singapore.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within FA firms, including principals and advisers.
  • Revenue Growth: Develop and execute business plans to achieve premium targets and grow market share within the FA channel.
  • Product Promotion: Collaborate with product and underwriting teams to position and promote general insurance solutions (e.g., property, motor, travel, health, commercial lines) tailored to the FA market.
  • Training & Enablement: Conduct product training, workshops, and seminars for financial advisers to enhance their knowledge and confidence in selling general insurance.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory developments affecting the FA distribution landscape in Singapore.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development of channel strategies, incentive programmes, and marketing campaigns to drive engagement and production.
  • Compliance: Ensure all business development activities comply with MAS regulations, company policies, and industry best practices.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates on pipeline activity, production performance, and market feedback to senior management.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development within the general insurance industry, with a focus on the financial adviser market.
  • Certification in Health Insurance (HI), Basic Insurance Concepts and Principles (BCP), Personal General Insurance (PGI), and Commercial General Insurance (ComGl) with the Singapore College of Insurance.
  • Strong understanding of general insurance products and the financial adviser landscape in Singapore.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • AI-Skills e.g. ChatGPT and Microsoft CoPilot an advantage.
