Role Summary

The Investment, Planning and Controlling (IPC) team plays a critical role in managing and overseeing the financial and performance data of PIMCO Prime Real Estate APAC investments during the entire investment life cycle. Working closely with the IPC APAC Team Head, the IPC Manager ensures the timely and accurate delivery of both regular and ad-hoc reporting by working closely with the Asset Management team and external managers. Additionally, the role involves close collaboration with the IPC Munich team to provide comprehensive investment analyses, supporting APAC management with the necessary insights for informed decision-making and planning

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare planning data and quarterly forecasts for APAC investments through Planning Dialogue, Finetuning and Strategic Dialogue exercises by collaborating with internal and external parties, ensuring data reliability, completeness and consistency from controlling/finance perspective
• Prepare Monthly Valuation and bi-montly liquidity forecast to Allianz Investors of the APAC investments
• Communicate closely and actively with accounting team to ensure an accurate and timely closing / reporting to Allianz investors
• Consolidate and review actual financial data for APAC investments and coordinate with the IPC team in Munich for regular and ad-hoc reporting tasks and submissions, as well as year-end Rolling Projection and Finetuning exercises
• Provide investment data and returns into various financial (investor) reports including analysis and presentation
• Assist the IPC Team Head and the Head of Finance with Planning Dialogues and actual performance to provide APAC management team with comprehensive insights
• Coordinate and oversee cash & capital management for APAC investments including coordinating, communicating and approving distributions, invoices, capital calls for Allianz investors
• Control investment structures including the supervision of external service providers, cash & capital management and collaboration with auditors and tax advisors
• Monitor external investment partners and service providers on cost /Asset management fees, tax compoliance, and corporate finance best practice
• Drive and support re-financing and restructuring to enhance financial efficiency of investment structures
• Support the acquisition/divestment/restructuring phase of investments, including negotiation of reporting requirements, specific accounting related requests, funding / capital calls / capital repayment, set up of the respective structures/companies and processes with internal and external counterparties
• Act as the interface between Asset Management, external fund managers, co-investment partners and various Allianz & PPRE internal stakeholders
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders such as Asset Management, Acquisitions, Portfolio & Analytics, Valuations teams as well as other Finance functions, in addition to external managers
• Actively support the ongoing development of the IPC function, including enhancing controlling tools, methods and procedures, participating in transformational and IT projects
• Collaobrate with and support the Team Head and the Head of Finance on new initiatives as well as various regulatory and management reporting

Key Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or similar concentration
• CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification preferred
• Familiarity with IFRS, local GAAP, local tax and local company law
• 3-4 years of solid finance and accounting experience in a comparable position, ideally related to APAC real estate fund and investments, preferably with prior audit experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Ability to drive projects and assignments independently and on a timely basis
• Strong inter-personal skills, with the ability to work well with others as a team
• Problem solving skills with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment (solutions-oriented and self-initiatives)
• Solutions-oriented and positive mind-set; enthusiastic; self-initiative
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office products, in particular Excel and BI tool (Power Query and Power BI)
• Self-motivated and ability to take sole responsibility for deliverables
• Good balance of strategic thinking and attention to detail
