Job Purpose
The role will be responsible for day-to-day legal issues for the Allianz Asia Pacific Regional Office (AZAP) and certain Allianz entities in Singapore, as well as provide legal advice, guidance and oversight on legal matters for other Allianz operating entities in the Asia Pacific Region (AZAP OEs).
The candidate will be responsible for independently leading, managing and/or implementing (as required) legal related aspects of M&A transactions and group / regional initiatives and projects in the Asia Pacific region.
What you do
Legal
- Drive and lead legal aspects of group, regional projects / initiatives in the Asia Pacific region. Work closely with / provide guidance to AZAP OE legal teams to align with Group’s / AZAP’s strategic direction.
- Drive and steer legal workstreams for M&A, restructurings and joint venture transactions in the Asia Pacific region. Work closely with Group Legal, AZAP M&A and OE teams to manage fast-paced transactions and demanding timelines. Manage and guide external legal counsel, as applicable.
- Provide legal and regulatory advice and transaction support for complex M&A, restructurings and joint venture transactions across the Asia Pacific region, including regional partnerships, strategic corporate transactions and similar matters (with support from external legal counsel as applicable).
- Provide business oriented legal advice and solutions in respect of all types of contracts entered by AZAP and other Allianz entities in Singapore.
- Drive the negotiation and drafting of a range of commercial agreements, ranging from NDAs and simple commercial contracts to complex cross border transactional documents, and managing relevant stakeholders independently.
- Anticipate future trends and risks in regulation and compliance and incorporating those into advice and business practices.
- Monitor and provide support to AZAP and local OE legal teams to implement corporate governance and corporate secretarial matters.
- Provide training to employees regarding legal topics (as required).
What you bring
Technical skills:
- Sound experience working on commercial and transactional contract negotiation and management.
- Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies (including AI) and the roll out of technology-driven initiatives.
- Strong legal drafting skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong ability to propose commercial legal solutions.
- Sound experience in corporate law and corporate governance.
General skills:
- Self-motivated and have ability to work independently
- Strong analytical, thinking and implementation skills and ability to problem-solve
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills required
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple deals / timelines
Required experience:

Qualitifed lawyer, Law degree (LLB) or equivalent with at least 5 years of post qualification experience working in a major law firm required
- Experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating legal agreements, including transactional agreements and IT agreements
- Fluent verbal and written English
- Experience / knowledge in applicable laws such as Europe’s AI Act, DORA, GDPR, etc.
- Proven team player and ability to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues from different backgrounds, functions and cultures
- Experience advising internationally across multiple jurisdictions, particularly in the Asia Pacific region a plus
- Prior experience advising or working in the insurance or financial services industry a plus
- AI-Skills e.g. ChatGPT and Microsoft CoPilot an advantage
