Our Opportunity:
The Motor Claim Specialist is responsible for managing and processing third-party property damage claims related to motor accidents. With over 5 years of experience in the insurance industry, the specialist will handle claims, ensuring efficient and fair resolution in line with regulations and company policies
Objectives & Key Performance Indicators:
- Collaborate with Product, Underwriting and other internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of coverage, policy intent and wordings.
- Attain annual claims savings set by HoD annually for the team on pending claims volume and nature of claims.
- Effective claims management skills, including compliance to protocols/operating procedures, reserving and managing panel of service providers.
- Maintain good Turn-Around-Time and claims service level standards to ensure customer claims experience are met.
Claims Management:
- Assess and process third-party property damage claims, determining liability and evaluating the extent of damage.
- Conduct detailed investigations, reviewing evidence, and liaising with repairers and assessors.
- Negotiate settlements with third parties and their representatives, ensuring fair compensation while minimizing costs.
- Fraud detection and control, including identifying suspicious claims
Customer and Stakeholder Interaction:
- Communicate effectively with claimants, policyholders, repair shops, and other stakeholders to facilitate the claims process.
- Provide regular updates and clear explanations to all parties, ensuring a transparent and customer-focused approach.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure all claims are handled in accordance with Singapore's legal and regulatory requirements.
- Stay informed of changes in laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to motor insurance and property damage claims.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare comprehensive reports and maintain accurate records for each claim.
- Analyze claims data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
Collaboration and Team Support:
- Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriting, risk management, and legal, to support the overall claims process.
Continuous Improvement:
- Engage in professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving claims processes and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications and skills:
- Professional certification in insurance or claims management.
- Certification in Basic Insurance Concepts and Principles (BCP), Personal General Insurance (PGI) and Commercial General Insurance (ComGl) with Singapore College of Insurance
- More than 5 years of experience in motor claims handling, with a focus on third-party property damage claims.
- Extensive knowledge of Singapore's motor insurance regulations and claims processes.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple claims efficiently and independently.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office software, Meirmen, GEARS, and any other technology applications
- Any AI-future skills e.g., ChatGPT, or CoPilot 365, will be an advantage to all job roles
