Description:

As a Product Manager, you will strategically drive the development, management, and optimisation of the P&C product portfolio for Allianz Insurance Singapore. You will serve as the central coordinator across underwriting, actuarial, claims, reinsurance, operations, compliance, legal, technology, and distribution functions to ensure products remain customer-centric, commercially competitive, operationally viable, and compliant throughout their lifecycle.

The role requires balancing customer needs, regulatory obligations, market competitiveness, and operational considerations while ensuring alignment with Allianz Group standards and local regulatory expectations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Product Development & Lifecycle Management
a) Own the end-to-end product development lifecycle
•    Manage product initiatives from concept development, feasibility assessment, business case preparation, approval, implementation, launch, monitoring, and post-launch review.
•    Ensure dependencies across pricing, underwriting, reinsurance, claims, operations, finance, technology, and distribution are identified and managed throughout the development process. 

b) Identify product enhancement opportunities
•    Gather and synthesize insights from distribution partners, customer feedback, complaints, claims experience, competitor benchmarking, market trends, and portfolio performance reviews to support product enhancement initiatives. 

c) Support implementation activities
•    Coordinate end-to-end implementation activities, including requirement gathering, process design, system configuration reviews, user acceptance testing, deployment readiness, and launch support.

 

Market Intelligence & Portfolio Optimisation
a) Monitor product performance
•    Track key performance indicators such as sales volume, persistency, customer take-up, product mix, distribution channel performance, claims trends, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement. 

b) Conduct market assessments
•    Maintain awareness of competitor offerings, emerging risks, regulatory developments, customer needs, and industry innovation trends that may impact the product portfolio.

 

Policy Wording & Product Documentation
a) Maintain policy documentation
•    Ensure policy wordings, certificates, endorsements, supplementary documents, marketing materials, and operational guides are reviewed for consistency, accuracy, customer clarity, and alignment with approved product specifications.

b) Version control and governance
•    Maintain a complete audit trail of approved product documentation and ensure updates are appropriately reviewed, approved, communicated, and archived.

 

Stakeholder Collaboration & Training
a) Cross-functional collaboration
•    Act as the central coordination point for product-related initiatives and facilitate alignment among business, technical, operational, and governance stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.

b) Product training and communication
•    Develop product briefing materials and conduct training sessions to ensure stakeholders understand product features, target markets, customer suitability considerations, key exclusions, and operational processes.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in insurance product development, product management, underwriting, portfolio management, or related insurance functions.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, Economics, Law, or a related field is required
  • Qualification in Insurance, Finance, or Risk Management are an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of general insurance products, distribution channels, policy structures, and customer value considerations.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives within a structured governance framework and deliver outcomes within agreed timelines.
  • Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT or Copilot and data analytics platforms is a plus.
  • AI-Skills e.g. ChatGPT and Microsoft CoPilot an advantage.
