Strategic Leadership and Execution:   

• Develop regional underwriting strategy aligned with global AZC goals.  

• Identify market opportunities to grow business.  

• Lead cross-LoB strategies with regional leaders to foster innovation. 

Performance Steering:  

• Manage the portfolio to meet financial and loss ratio targets across the region.   

• Drive planning, monitor progress and optimise the portfolio across the underwriting lifecycle 

Underwriting Excellence and Compliance:  

• Maintain underwriting consistency and compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.  

• Drive rollout and adoption of global pricing and TEX tools across the region 

Corporate Governance and Compliance:  

• Ensure global governance coherence and adherence to compliance standards.  

• Promote integrity and ethical behaviour organization-wide. 

Market and Relationship Management:   

• Acquire and retain business through strategic client and broker relationships.  

• Enhance market presence and represent Allianz Commercial internally and externally. 

Underwriting Leadership:  

• Lead the regional underwriting teams in new business and renewal strategies.   

• Collaborate closely with the global LoB leads on development of local products   

• Oversee cross-LoB and country underwriting deals acting as a consistent face to the market across the region.  

• Act as first point of escalation point for underwriting referrals 

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

• Excellent communication and presentation, strong negotiation and leadership, expertise in risk assessment & management, advanced pricing knowledge, contract drafting proficiency, and strong analytical abilities. 

• More than 10 years experience in underwriting management, strong broker relationships, local market presence, proven profitable growth, and experience leading teams in complex global environments. 

• Preferably a Master's Degree in Economics, Law, or a related discipline.  Completion of professional insurance qualifications (e.g., CII). 

• The ability to ensure ethical AI practices and stay updated with emerging AI technologies will be key to maintaining a competitive advantage.
