Description:

We are looking for a seasoned Senior Motor Surveyor to join the motor surveying function. The ideal candidate will bring over 15 years of extensive experience in motor surveying and claims assessment. This role involves overseeing vehicle damage assessments, ensuring seamless claims processes, and driving operational excellence within the motor claims ecosystem. The successful candidate will possess exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of motor surveyors, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance. Allocate surveyor resources effectively to meet operational demands and service level agreements. Conduct regular performance reviews, training, and development programs for the surveyor and claims team.
  2. Claims Assessment and Surveying:  Oversee and execute the end-to-end motor claims assessment process, ensuring timely and accurate damage assessments. Review and approve complex or high-value claims assessments conducted by internal and external surveyors. Provide technical expertise and advice on repair methodologies, cost estimation, and claim settlements.
  3. Workshop and Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with workshops, repair vendors, and other service providers. Negotiate service agreements, pricing, and terms with workshops to ensure cost efficiency and quality repairs. Monitor workshop performance and compliance with agreed service standards.
  4. Process Improvement and Operational Excellence: Identify opportunities for process improvements in motor claims assessment and repair workflows. Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., underwriting, claims, and customer service) to streamline processes and resolve escalations.
  5. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all motor claims assessments and repair processes comply with regulatory requirements and company policies. Monitor and mitigate risks related to fraudulent claims, repair quality, and vendor performance. Conduct regular audits of surveyor activities and workshop operations.
  6. Reporting and Analytics: Prepare and present regular reports on team performance, claims trends, and workshop efficiency to stakeholders. Analyze data to identify patterns, trends, and opportunities for cost savings or process enhancements.
  7. Customer Focus: Act as an escalation point for complex or high-profile customer cases, ensuring timely resolution and customer satisfaction. Promote a customer-centric approach within the surveyor team and across workshop interactions.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in motor surveying, with a strong track record of success in the field.
  • Certification in Basic Insurance Concepts and Principles (BCP), Personal General Insurance (PGI) and Commercial General Insurance (ComGl) with Singapore College of Insurance
  • In-depth knowledge of motor vehicle repair processes, damage assessment, and cost estimation.
  • Familiarity with insurance claims systems, tools, and technologies.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in Singapore.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound judgments based on detailed assessments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as required for site inspections.
  • Relevant certifications or qualifications in motor surveying or a related field are preferred.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to handle escalations professionally.
  • AI-Skills e.g. ChatGPT and Microsoft CoPilot an advantage.
