Description:
The Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the management and processing of Third-Party Bodily Injury claims related to motor accidents. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the insurance industry, particularly in motor claims handling. The Team Leader will ensure efficient and fair resolution of claims in line with local regulations and company policies, while leading and mentoring a team of claims specialists across Singapore and Malaysia.
Key Resposibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management
a) Lead and manage a team of claims specialists handling Bodily Injury claims across Singapore and Malaysia
b) Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
c) Monitor team performance against key objectives and KPIs, ensuring alignment with departmental goals.
- Claims Management
a) Oversee the assessment and processing of Bodily Injury claims, ensuring accurate determination of liability and evaluation of damages.
b) Conduct detailed investigations, including site visits, evidence collection, and coordination with lawyers, repairers and medical assessors.
c) Negotiate settlements with third parties and their representatives, ensuring fair compensation while minimizing costs.
- Reporting and Communiations
a) Prepare comprehensive performance reports for management, analyzing claims data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement.
b) Conduct presentations to management and stakeholders, providing insights and updates on claims performance and strategic initiatives.
- Customer and Stakeholder Interaction
a) Communicate effectively with claimants, policyholders, lawyers, medical providers, and other stakeholders to facilitate the claims process.
b) Provide regular updates and clear explanations to all parties, ensuring a transparent and customer-focused approach.
- Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
a) Collaborate with internal teams, including underwriting, risk management, and legal, to support the overall claims process.
b) Engage in professional development to enhance skills and knowledge, contributing to initiatives aimed at improving claims processes and customer satisfaction.
- Regulatory Compliance
a) Ensure all claims are handled in accordance with Singapore's legal and regulatory requirements.
b) Stay informed of changes in laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to motor insurance and claims handling.
Qualifications
- Professional certification in insurance or claims management.
- Certification in Basic Insurance Concepts and Principles (BCP), Personal General Insurance (PGI), and Commercial General Insurance (ComGl) with Singapore College of Insurance.
- More than 10 years of experience in motor claims handling, with a focus on third-party property damage and bodily injury claims.
- Extensive knowledge of Singapore's motor insurance regulations and claims processes.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple claims efficiently and independently.
- Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
