Portfolio Manager

Join us now as Portfolio Manager in Taiwan within the Discretionary Investment team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research with a strong focus on Taiwan’s domestic market and contributing to portfolio management activities. Research will be the core of this role, complemented by active participation in client account management and investment decision-making within the team structure.
This position (ideally Vice President or Director level) requires substantial industry experience, analytical rigor, and strong teamwork, with frequent engagement across internal and external stakeholders.
What you will do
- Conduct fundamental research on Taiwan’s domestic market. Ideally, with experience on technology hardware of semiconductor sectors.
- Build and maintain financial models, valuation frameworks, and proprietary databases to support investment decisions.
- Develop market outlooks, sector reports, and actionable investment ideas.
- Monitor investment team’s existing holdings and identify new investment opportunities with timely updates and valuations.
- Support portfolio management by managing client accounts as assigned within the team, and by contributing to asset allocation, position sizing, risk assessment, and performance monitoring.
- Stay current on industry developments through conferences, forums, and expert consultations.
- Communicate research findings and portfolio rationales clearly in reports, presentations, and discussions.
- Collaborate with global and regional research teams to align local insights with broader strategies.
- Ability to manage investment portfolios according to pre-determined product specification and deliver performances that exceed pre-determined benchmark.
- Participate in portfolio review meetings, sharing views on sector trends, stock drivers, and portfolio adjustments.
- Sound people management skills and experience in managing a high-performance equity research team are a significant plus.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree; minimum 5 years of relevant research experience in Taiwan’s technology industry or leading equity research team.
- Qualified Portfolio Manager license accredited by the Securities Investment Trust and Consulting Association (SITCA).
- Strong ability to conduct independent research and generate forward looking opinions and actionable insights.
- Solid understanding of industrial and market trends, with the ability to connect company analysis to portfolio strategy.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese, both written and verbal.
- Proven collaboration with portfolio managers and analysts, contributing to strong investment outcomes.
- Proficiency in financial databases, modelling, and programming (SQL, Python, etc.); experience with AI/ML applications is a plus.
- Highly motivated, results-driven, and capable of working independently as well as within a team environment.
- Curious, eager to learn, diligent, resilient under pressure, with strong logical thinking and sound decision-making abilities
- AI skills: SQL, CoPilot
