Euler Hermes Reinsurance AG (EH Re) is a Swiss-domiciled reinsurance company regulated by FINMA. As the intra-group reinsurance carrier of Allianz Trade, EH Re assumes and manages reinsurance risks ceded by Allianz Trade's operating entities worldwide and is expanding into third-party business. EH Re also serves as the Group Reinsurance function, providing strategic reinsurance expertise, coordination, and specialized services supporting Allianz Trade's global operations.
The role
The Senior Compliance Officer holds a dual mandate:
- Local compliance (50%): Managing the compliance activities of EH Re as a regulated Swiss entity, including the FINMA relationship and Solvency II/SST adherence.
- Group compliance (50%): Contributing to Allianz Trade's global compliance framework covering regulatory compliance, anti-financial crime, customer protection, and market integrity.
The group-level responsibility is independent from the local entity role but embedded within Allianz Trade's integrated compliance management approach.
As a key governance participant, the Senior Compliance Officer attends all Board of Management meetings as an invitee/counselor, providing independent compliance guidance and ensuring that compliance considerations are integrated into strategic decision-making at the highest level.
Main tasks
The Local Role – EH Re AG (50%)
- Manages and coordinates local compliance activities per Allianz Trade Group Compliance Policy and ensures the regulatory position vis-à-vis FINMA
- Holds the Anti-Financial Crime Function including Anti-Fraud Coordinator role
- Safeguards EH Re's reputation and promotes a culture of integrity by:
- Advising on lawful, ethical business conduct in the interest of customers, shareholders, partners and colleagues
- Preventing and detecting violations through identifying and managing compliance risks
- Advocating reinsurance compliance positions with regulators
- Monitoring and implementing relevant FINMA regulatory developments
- Reports quarterly to the Board of Directors
The Group Role – Allianz Trade (50%)
- Defines and updates compliance requirements across:
- Regulatory Compliance (Solvency II, conduct requirements)
- Anti-Financial Crime and Customer Protection
Market Integrity (group-wide Allianz compliance programs) - Implements compliance standards and rules; supports Compliance Reviews, Training and Communications
- Tracks and monitors new international and local regulatory developments
- Supports economic sanctions screening processes, helpdesk and advisory
- Liaises with Allianz Trade Group functions and Regions
Required profile
Education & Experience:
- Master's degree (law, business or accountancy preferred)
- Minimum 5 years in a compliance function or regulatory enforcement in the financial sector, including 3 years as compliance officer in a sizeable financial organization (or equivalent)
Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of compliance regulations and the regulatory environment
- Good knowledge of reinsurance principles and business processes
- Ability to anticipate compliance risks
Skills & Competencies:
- Client-service mentality, quality-focused and results-oriented
- Strong organizational skills, agility and ability to prioritize multiple projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within virtual/international teams
- Diplomatic sensitivity and multi-stakeholder management
- Excellent interpersonal skills; comfortable interacting at all levels including executive management
- Experience in change management and promoting innovation with a hands-on mentality
- Rigorous methodology combined with a pragmatic approach
- High level of integrity
Languages:
- Fluency in English (required)
- French or German (preferred)
Desirable:
- Process design experience and/or OPEX certification (or equivalent)
- Ability to structure complex data and logical analysis
- Open to AI, GenAI or automation practices
