We are hiring an AVP or VP (depending on experience level), to be based in New York, to focus on our private equity efforts.

About our Private Equity Team:

With more than EUR 28 billion AuM in private equity, including primary fund commitments, co-investments and secondaries, Allianz Global Investors is one of the world’s leading institutional private equity investors. With offices in New York, Munich and Singapore, we partner with some of the world’s leading private equity funds.

  • Participate in screening and diligence meetings with new and existing managers, including pre-meeting preparation, post-meeting notes, and independent evaluation of opportunities.
  • Conduct market research and maintain deal flow database; explore new manager types and strategies, as needed.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with fund managers and other market participants to enhance sourcing, diligence, and market intelligence.
  • Perform in-depth due diligence on primary, co-investment, and secondary deals; prepare detailed investment memos based on rigorous analysis of quantitative and qualitative factors.
  • Contribute to investment committee discussions, supporting deal teams in responding to committee questions.
  • Monitor existing investments, including analyzing quarterly/annual reports, benchmarking performance, and identifying portfolio risks or opportunities.
  • Liaise with global support teams (legal, tax, risk, ESG, etc.) to guide investments through execution and monitoring processes.
  • Maintain active dialogue and collaborate closely with PE colleagues in Munich and Singapore to share insights, coordinate diligence, and ensure alignment across global investment activities.
  • Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI).

 

What you bring:

  • 2–8 years of relevant experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, or fund-of-funds investing preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, including financial modeling, valuation analysis, and investment due diligence; ability to interpret complex financial statements.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing projects and presenting investment recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with colleagues across geographies to achieve shared investment objectives.
  • Able to manage multiple responsibilities with high attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring immigration sponsorship now or in the future. This includes holders of H-1B, H4, L-1, L-2, TN, OPT, CPT, and other nonimmigrant visas.

 

Job posting range:  $150,000 - $210,000

 

Note the job posting range is exclusive of company benefits or other compensation. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive program. If you are hired, your final base salary will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, experience, skills, competencies, and/or education. In addition to those factors, we will also consider internal equity of our current employees. Please keep in mind that the range provided is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at or near the maximum of the range would not be typical to allow for future and continued salary growth.
