Then join us now as Investment Compliance Manager - 12 Months Contract in Singapore within the Investment Compliance team. The Investment Compliance team in Asia Pacific, located in Indonesia and Singapore, oversees a global compliance programme covering advisory, training, monitoring, and reporting for investment functions such as research, portfolio management, trading, and pricing.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for working collaboratively to align policies, manage cross-border compliance issues, and address risks related to a range of traditional assets. The team plays a vital role within the wider global and regional compliance structure, ensuring adherence to both internal standards and local regulations across multiple Asian jurisdictions, including Taiwan, mainland China, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Indonesia.

 

 

What you will do

 

  • Ensure all AllianzGI AP office activities comply with relevant regulatory and internal Investment Compliance requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain effective compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Advise and train staff on Investment Compliance matters.
  • Review and analyse pre-trade requests, including cross trades, order cancellations, and same-day trading activities.
  • Conduct compliance monitoring, focusing on best execution, market abuse, insider dealing, cross-trades, and fair allocation.
  • Report findings and breaches identified during compliance monitoring.
  • Analyse and escalate complex trade errors and market abuse cases, supporting investigations and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the Global Sanctions Coordinator on economic sanction matters affecting investments and trading.
  • Support guideline coding and review pre- and post-trade guideline breaches.
  • Perform outsourcing controls within the Investment Compliance area as required.
  • Lead or participate in internal compliance reviews.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management and external clients.
  • Assist with audits, reviews, and examinations as directed.
  • Monitor and analyse regulatory developments and oversee their impact on business activities.
  • Promote a culture of compliance and continuous improvement through staff guidance and training.
  • Foster strong partnerships with local investment professionals and global Investment Compliance colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain a strong relationship and partnership with the Investment Compliance colleagues in Asia, Europe and the United States, as well as with local colleagues in other Compliance and Legal teams.

 

 

What you bring

 

  • University degree in law, business management or similar.
  • 7+ years’ experience in the financial industry with a focus in asset management, namely in governance functions such as Legal & Compliance, Risk Management and/or Internal Audit, predominantly focused on portfolio management and trading compliance matters such as best execution, market abuse.
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered as Assistance Vice President/Compliance Officer.
  • A sound understanding of the current issues affecting the financial services and asset management industry, combined with sound knowledge of the operational and regulatory frameworks from a Compliance perspective.
  • Working knowledge of Bloomberg is preferred.
  • Experience with investment guidelines coding is preferred, but not essential.
  • Understanding of regulations, their interpretation, and practical application.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial instruments, derivatives, and investment strategies.
  • Experience interpreting and implementing lessons learned from regulatory sanctions.
  • Might require occasional travel to Jakarta, Indonesia  
  • Ability to take initiative, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
  • Team player and ability to build positive relationships across the business internally and externally and commitment to contributing to a strong compliance culture within the firm
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment, understand complex issues quickly, to explain them clearly and concisely, and propose practical solutions
  • Experience in a global matrix and multi-cultural work environment in which the candidate was a member of a team where his/her team members and/or manager were located
  • AI skills: Microsoft CoPilot
